Poor Unfinished Projects (PUPS) due July 5th....How are you doing on yours??????

Poor Unfinished projects are due in just a few weeks! Members are invited to bring in three Poor Unfinished Projects (PUPs) that they have hanging around their sewing room (sometimes it is hard to decide which three). Each member will be allotted about 2-3 minutes to describe the items and then the entire membership gets to vote on which one you finish by July of the following year.

This year's PUP challenge will take place on Tuesday, July 5. So, even if you aren't currently working on a PUP for this year, try to think about what three unfinished projects you will bring to the July 5 meeting.

Repurpose your scraps of fabric and batting...

Nimble Thimbles now has a place to donate completed dog beds. Arizona Friends of Gilbert has agreed to take donated beds to go with the adopted pets. If you go to their web site, you can gain more information. http://azfriends.org/

As to making the beds, it is very easy. The size of dog beds vary by the size of the folding cages that the organization uses to transport them to be adopted. Here is a sampling: 12 x 20, 30 x 30, 18 x 30, 16 x 22, 24 x 38, 22 x 34, 27 x 45, 16 x 20, 26 x 42.

The material needed for the beds are fabric scraps and batting pieces. A recommended depth for the scrap filling is maybe 2-3 inches. Please go through donated material a second time to ensure that pins, needles, paper or trash is not present.

Bring your donated scraps to any Nimble Thimble meeting and give to Kathy O'Brien
Thank you.
